The Odds of Ads

Targeting ample amount of customers and clients is never easy. Companies spend billions of dollars in advertising their products and services. Centuries ago, the most common way of business advertisement is through the spread of words. Yet, many years later, the picturesque of merchants yelling out to call the attention of customers and prospect buyers are now commonly seen in the marketplace. This is because the business industry has found other means of selling their products and services through advertisements with higher odds of reaching a wider range of customers.

Written advertisements such as those found in the newspapers as well as brochures and pamphlets or leaflets given away to the public has been proven more effective than hearsays because it cannot be easily forgotten. Also, the pictures added in written ads may attract more attention. Television ads, now the most popular and most budgeted means of advertisement of companies, have been more effective. If a picture is worth a thousand words, then a moving picture is worth millions, not only in words but also in terms of money.

And now that more and more people around the world are gaining access to the internet, companies are starting to spend almost 20% of their advertising budget to online marketing. It is expected that online marketing will eventually surpass television advertising in the next decade.
